Your journal stays yours.
I’m Corey Kozarski, the person behind Nowhere. I built Nowhere to give you a private place to remember where you’ve been. There’s no Nowhere account, advertising or app-usage analytics.
Your journal lives on your iPhone and can sync through your personal iCloud. Here’s how Nowhere and this website handle information.
Your journal and location
Nowhere stores the places you record, photos, voice memos and reflections. With your permission, it records precise location to draw your trail and suggest stops. Background recording needs Always location access. You control permissions in iOS Settings.
Supported journal data, including your Cap conversations, can sync between your devices through your personal iCloud account.
Features provided by Apple
Apple provides maps, place search, directions, weather, sync and downloads, and handles the information needed for those features. Apple also processes tips. I don’t receive your card details. If you choose another app for directions or a ride, Nowhere opens it with your destination.
City knowledge and links you share
City knowledge gets city facts and pronunciation from Wikimedia. It’s on by default and may send a city name or coordinates, along with your IP address. You can turn it off in Nowhere’s Settings.
Scout visits links you choose to share to help identify places. Those websites receive the request and your IP address. Scout also uses Apple’s place search.
Apple Intelligence
Ask your world searches your journal on your iPhone. Writing features such as Ask Cap and The Brief use Apple Intelligence. Depending on the task and what’s available, processing happens on your device or through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, using the conversation and journal details needed for the response. Photos you add to a conversation are read on your iPhone and are not sent to Private Cloud Compute. No third-party AI service receives your journal. Cloud processing, online lookups and iCloud sync need a connection.
Siri & Search
If Siri & Search is on, your places, trips and reflections appear in search on your iPhone, and Siri can use them when your iPhone is unlocked. You can turn this off in Nowhere’s Settings.
If you turn on Game Center
Game Center is off by default. If you enable it, Nowhere shares achievements and scores with Apple under your Game Center identity. It doesn’t send journal entries, place names, photos or routes to leaderboards.
Keeping a copy, sharing or deleting
You choose what to share. Settings → Export Data saves readable journal files and available media, with an option to include your Location trail.
Settings → Delete all data removes your journal and syncs deletions through iCloud when available. Exported copies and Game Center records remain separate. Deleting the app alone doesn’t remove its iCloud copy.
When you ask me for help
Email support@visitnowhere.app for help. I receive your message, email address and any attachments you send. In-app email drafts include app and device details that you can edit before sending.
I use support messages to help with your request and keep them only as long as needed, including any required legal retention.
